Turn a scan straight into a WhatsApp conversation

The code opens WhatsApp with your number selected and your message already typed — the customer only has to press send.

WhatsApp QR code with a pre-filled message

Why it works

Fewer dropped enquiries

No typing a number from a poster, no typos, no "I will message later".

Context arrives with the message

Pre-fill the product code or branch name so your team knows what the chat is about before replying.

One number, many placements

Give each placement its own dynamic code and see which one people actually scan.

How do I make a WhatsApp QR code?

  1. Choose the WhatsApp QR type
  2. Enter your number and opening message
  3. Style and download the code
  4. Put it where the question gets asked

What the code encodes

A WhatsApp QR code encodes a wa.me link: your number in international format, plus an optional message that arrives already typed in the composer. The customer scans, WhatsApp opens on the right conversation, and the only remaining action is pressing send. That last detail is what separates it from printing your number — a number has to be typed, checked and saved before anyone can use it, and most people postpone that until they have forgotten why.

Writing the pre-filled message

The pre-fill is the most under-used part. Instead of "Hi", encode the context: the product code on the shelf talker, the branch name on the counter card, the table number in the restaurant. When the message arrives, your team already knows what it is about and can answer in one reply rather than three. Keep it short — it is the customer’s message, and anything long enough to look like marketing will be deleted before sending.

Where these codes belong

They work where a question is likely and a keyboard is not: shopfront windows after closing, packaging where a support question follows a purchase, catalogues and price lists, shelf edges, service vehicles, and the back of a business card. Give each placement its own dynamic code and the analytics tell you which placement produced conversations rather than which one you assumed would.

Questions about WhatsApp QR codes

Do I need WhatsApp Business?

No. The code works with any WhatsApp account, though Business gives you catalogues, away messages and labels.

Can I change the pre-filled message later?

On a dynamic code, yes — edit it and the next scan carries the new text. A static code has the message baked in.

Which number format should I use?

International format including the country code, for example +91 for India. The builder rejects a number WhatsApp would not accept.
