QR codes and short links with analytics

  • 22 QR types, from website and Wi-Fi to vCard, UPI and WhatsApp
  • Dynamic codes whose destination stays editable after printing
  • Branded short links on your own domain
  • Scans and clicks by country, city, device, browser and hour

  • Free forever plan — one QR code, no card, no expiry

Why track QR codes and short links together?

One number instead of two

A poster QR and the short link in the email footer usually point at the same campaign. Reporting them in one place is the difference between knowing a campaign worked and knowing which half of it did.

Print stops being a dead end

A static code is a decision you cannot revisit. A dynamic code is a destination you can change on a Tuesday afternoon without reprinting five thousand flyers.

Analytics you can defend

Bots are excluded and raw IP addresses are never stored by default, so the number you report internally is one you can explain to a privacy review.

How do I make a QR code?

  1. Choose what the code should do — open a link, join Wi-Fi, start a WhatsApp chat
  2. Enter your content
  3. Style the colours, shape and logo to match your brand
  4. Download PNG, SVG or a print-ready PDF

What Qrievo actually is

Qrievo is a QR code generator and link shortener that share one analytics pipeline. You create a code or a link, you put it somewhere, and every scan and click is attributed back to it by country, city, device, browser and hour. It is built for businesses that print things — menus, packaging, signage, business cards — and want the printed channel measured the same way the digital one already is.

Static and dynamic codes, and when each is right

A static QR code carries its data inside the pattern itself. Nothing resolves it, nothing can break it, and nothing can change it — which makes it the right choice for a Wi-Fi password on a wall or a vCard on a business card. A dynamic code carries a short URL that Qrievo resolves, so the printed pattern never changes while the destination stays editable. If the thing you are printing will outlive the campaign it points at, print a dynamic code.

Why pricing is set per currency

Prices are set separately in Indian rupees and US dollars rather than converted at checkout. A converted price drifts with the exchange rate and lands on numbers nobody would choose deliberately. Setting each market its own price means an Indian customer sees ₹499 and an international one sees $9, and neither is an artefact of the day’s rate. Indian customers receive GST-compliant invoices with their GSTIN on them.

What the analytics do and do not record

Every scan and click records the destination, the time, the coarse location, the device class and the browser family. Unique visitors are counted with a salted hash that rotates daily, which means the same person on two days counts twice and no record can be reversed to an IP address or joined across days. Known bot traffic is excluded before the numbers reach your dashboard, which is why Qrievo’s scan count and a web analytics tool’s pageview count will rarely match exactly.

Common questions about QR codes and short links

Is Qrievo free to use?

Yes. Designing and previewing a QR code is free and needs no account at all. A free account adds one saved QR code and one short link, with no card required and no time limit. Paid plans start at ₹499 or $9 a month and add dynamic codes, higher limits and longer analytics retention.

What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?

A static code stores its data inside the pattern, so it works forever but can never be changed. A dynamic code stores a short link that Qrievo resolves, so you can change where it points at any time without reprinting the code.

Can I put my logo in the QR code?

Yes. Upload a logo and the generator raises the error-correction level automatically so the code still scans with its centre covered. Styling is capped where it would break the finder patterns, so a code that looks right also reads right.

How big should I print a QR code?

At least 2 cm wide for something scanned at arm’s length, and roughly one tenth of the reading distance for signage — a code read from 3 metres wants to be about 30 cm. Download the PDF for exact millimetre sizing.

Do my QR codes expire?

Static codes never expire. Dynamic codes resolve while your plan is active, and you can set your own expiry date on any of them. If a subscription lapses the dynamic codes stop resolving and start again when you resubscribe — the printed pattern is unchanged.

Do you store my visitors’ IP addresses?

Not by default. Unique visitors are counted with a daily-rotating salted hash that cannot be reversed to an IP address or joined across days.
